Club Stories

The Giving Plate is a gift to the members of the Rotary Club of Burlington in recognition of all the love and blessings that flow within our Club and out into our community and the world.  We are a family who cares and shares and truly Do Good in the World.

Burlington-Edison High School’s Interact Club has a new tone to their meetings thanks to the donation of a Rotary Bell presented to the Club by members of the Rotary Club of Burlington on Feb. 2nd.

It is that time of year again when the change of guard takes place in the Rotary World at every level: Club, District, Zone and at Rotary International. Thank You to past District Governor Bev Harrington, who is a member of our club, as she took over the reins in the middle of a pandemic and guided and led District 5050 exceptionally well. We now welcome our new District Governor Raj Rajagopal.

"Imagine Rotary” is the 2022-23 presidential theme that Rotary International President Jennifer Jones unveiled. She is asking Rotary members to dream big and take action: “We all have dreams, but acting on them is a choice. Imagine a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.” To read more about this year's theme, click here

Bev grew up in San Mateo, California, and lived in the same house until she left for college with a stay-at-home mom and a dad who worked two jobs to provide for her and her three brothers. It was a happy time with summers spent camping and water skiing. After returning from a year in Austria as an exchange student, she attended the University of California, Berkeley, until marrying and starting a family.

Skagit Kids Read Week is an annual community celebration of reading and literacy featuring an author that can travel to Skagit County for events. Strategic events are normally held in schools, libraries and child care centers, as well as an event at the Children’s Museum of Skagit County with the author onsite to do a reading, provide opportunities for literacy activities and engage the child, families and caregivers with resources to extend them at home.
